Travel | Charlottesville, Virginia

This Labor Day I took a trip to Charlottesville, Virginia to celebrate my friend Jenn’s bachelorette party! Since it’s only a couple of hours away from D.C. and is home to Virginia’s wine country and fabulous southern cuisine, Charlottesville was the perfect spot to spend the three day weekend! Check out some images from our trip below and most importantly, read up on where we ate and drank.

Fellini’s #9 – A charming Italian restaurant with exposed brick, a cozy atmosphere and amazing linguine con vongole.

The Whiskey Jar – Our meal started out with house-made pickles and peanuts at this incredible barbecue spot. The pulled pork sandwich and collard greens were bomb!

Chaps – This place is home to the most delicious homemade ice cream and it’s location is right in the heart of the downtown mall where you can shop and peruse outdoor markets on the weekends.

DRINK

Pippin Hill Farm – With gorgeous views and grounds, the decor at Pippin Hill fulfills every shabby chic dream I have in my head and the wine is outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the Chardonnay – it was slightly oak-y and buttery which is how I like my whites.

Trump Winery – The staff was incredibly hospitable during our private tasting and the views were unforgettable. The rose tastes really good when you come from Pippin Hill and have a good buzz going… 🙂

Commonwealth Skybar – This place has a large rooftop bar and is great for sipping cocktails or watching a game. image1
