Ground turkey seems to be all the rage these days and I’ve got to say I’m on the bandwagon. I love this lean alternative to beef and I try to substitute it into as many recipes as I can. Although ground turkey is a great option, I once tried to make meatballs out of it and it had me yearning for my Mom’s classic beef meatballs. Now for burger purists out there, converting to the turkey can be tough. I understand the apprehension, but, thanks to my boyfriend, I have a fabulous tip for keeping your burger nice and juicy throughout the cooking process. Six words, twelve syllables: caramelized onions stuffed inside your burger. As you bite into this burger, you’ll be hit with sweetness from the onions and a nice combo of smoke ‘n spice from the seasoning mix I created. I dare you to give this recipe a spin at your next bbq and give your guests a new take on turkey!
