Happy Thursday! I wanted to take a moment and thank you for supporting my blog over the past seven months. Since I started blogging in August, I’ve seen some exciting growth and have enjoyed being apart of the blogging community! I thought I’d take some time to share some random things about myself below, you know, so we can become better acquainted and all that good stuff. Here goes…
-
My full name is Alexandra, but I am only called that at the doctors office.
-
My parents have lived in the same house for 34 years.
-
I have a degree in finance and economics from George Mason University.
-
I lived at home all through college. It was wild, if you want to hear more about it just drop me a line 😉
-
I started to teach myself the piano at 13 years old and wrote my first song when I was 16.
-
I get all of my musical abilities from my dad. His grandfather played many instruments and his mom sang in a band in the 1930s.
-
Every woman in my family can drive a stick shift.
-
I’ve driven the same stick shift car since I was 16 years old.
-
I love to cook but hate cleaning the dishes.
-
MacGyver would be proud of my photography set up. Let’s just say that sometimes I hold my light tent thingy between my toes to stand it up while taking a picture.
-
I’ve never been to California, but Bryan and I are going to San Francisco in a month!
-
In addition to being Italian I am a little bit Spanish, and get Czechoslovakian from my dad’s side.
-
I went to Italy in 2010 for my college graduation and cannot wait to return.
-
I played basketball from age 5 to 16.
-
I won a high school version of American Idol when I was a freshman.
-
I won a college version of American Idol when I was a sophomore at George Mason.
-
I tried out for the real American Idol twice, once when I was 16 and again at 22.
-
I’ve worn glasses for 12 years, and now have two pairs, one for the computer, and one for seeing far away.
-
I curse a lot, but am trying to be better about it. Why does saying the “f” word feel so good?
-
I used to have a lisp when I was little and my sisters would tease me and make me say “Sally sells seashells by the seashore” all. the. time.
-
I lived in NYC for the summer when I was 19.
-
The largest crowd I’ve sung in front of was almost 6,000 people.
-
My Mom is my biggest sounding board when it comes to creating recipes.
-
My sister Brooke and I get asked if we are twins everywhere we go.
-
I regularly try to explain to my dad how Michael McDonald’s voice is so annoying, but he never “gets it.”
-
I held my first job ever (working at a day spa) for almost 10 years.
-
I’ve recently taken up yoga and am really enjoying it, especially when some of my fellow classmates wear pants that may or may not be see through.
- I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Virginia.
