28 Weeks of Blogging & 28 Fun Facts

Happy Thursday! I wanted to take a moment and thank you for supporting my blog over the past seven months. Since I started blogging in August, I’ve seen some exciting growth and have enjoyed being apart of the blogging community! I thought I’d take some time to share some random things about myself below, you know, so we can become better acquainted and all that good stuff. Here goes…

  1. My full name is Alexandra, but I am only called that at the doctors office.

  2. My parents have lived in the same house for 34 years.

  3. I have a degree in finance and economics from George Mason University.

  4. I lived at home all through college. It was wild, if you want to hear more about it just drop me a line 😉

  5. I started to teach myself the piano at 13 years old and wrote my first song when I was 16.

  6. I get all of my musical abilities from my dad. His grandfather played many instruments and his mom sang in a band in the 1930s.

  7. Every woman in my family can drive a stick shift.

  8. I’ve driven the same stick shift car since I was 16 years old.

  9. I love to cook but hate cleaning the dishes.

  10. MacGyver would be proud of my photography set up. Let’s just say that sometimes I hold my light tent thingy between my toes to stand it up while taking a picture.

  11. I’ve never been to California, but Bryan and I are going to San Francisco in a month!

  12. In addition to being Italian I am a little bit Spanish, and get Czechoslovakian from my dad’s side.

  13. I went to Italy in 2010 for my college graduation and cannot wait to return.

  14. I played basketball from age 5 to 16.

  15. I won a high school version of American Idol when I was a freshman.

  16. I won a college version of American Idol when I was a sophomore at George Mason.

  17. I tried out for the real American Idol twice, once when I was 16 and again at 22.

  18. I’ve worn glasses for 12 years, and now have two pairs, one for the computer, and one for seeing far away.

  19. I curse a lot, but am trying to be better about it. Why does saying the “f” word feel so good?

  20. I used to have a lisp when I was little and my sisters would tease me and make me say “Sally sells seashells by the seashore” all. the. time.

  21. I lived in NYC for the summer when I was 19.

  22. The largest crowd I’ve sung in front of was almost 6,000 people.

  23. My Mom is my biggest sounding board when it comes to creating recipes.

  24. My sister Brooke and I get asked if we are twins everywhere we go.

  25. I regularly try to explain to my dad how Michael McDonald’s voice is so annoying, but he never “gets it.”

  26. I held my first job ever (working at a day spa) for almost 10 years.

  27. I’ve recently taken up yoga and am really enjoying it, especially when some of my fellow classmates wear pants that may or may not be see through.

  28. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Virginia.
